I Passed!!! Yay! I am officially done with commercial.
After oh I'd say a year of it with all that instructor, weather, and airplane issue I am finally done. But you know what, I didn't feel like it was an accomplishment. I don't know if it was the long wait, or the constant delay for the check ride, or perhaps the fact that I didn't think my flight was the best, it just seemed like it was given to me then the fact that I earned it.
Well even if that is the case I'm going to show that I can do CFI and that I can do it in one go! That last flight was of no confidence booster instead it bore pure single minded determination from me. I know August is going to be tough but with friends, best friends : ) , and family, I am going to make it and "Be Number ONE"!.

Day 12
8:00a- Woke up and drove to solano beach to do computer e-waste and laptop inventory.
2:30p- Arrived at Fallbrook after carl's jr lunch and the hour long drive.
5:00p- Got home from fallbrook's inspection and fell asleep.
8:00p- Cooked dinner and ate it.
9:30p- Took shower and checked work and regular email. Browsed The Net.

Day 11
9:00a- Woke up and had my Monday morning conference call.
10:00a - Checked work email and regular email.
11:00a - Did some practice tests for CFI.
12:00p- Started lunch and had lunch.

4:15p- Went to teach volleyball.
9:30p- Got back home and started dinner.

Day 10
This was a recovery day, so mostly just chilling with everyone. Looking at the schedule I think this week is going to be crazy. I think my check ride is going to be on Wednesday and a lot of my Interschola pickups will be on Wednesday too. I hope my check ride is earlier. But we will see.

Well my Big came down to celebrate with me b/c we all thought that I'd be done. In any case we went to comic con all day long and celebrated at night. It was fun catching up on old times.

Well I was preparing today to be my final flight as a student on the left. But lo and behold when I called at 12:00p to confirm my flight, my instructor said that the Check Airmen was not in. They said he was sick. I just hope it's nothing serious. But really... this is unbelievable...

Day 7
9:00a - Woke up and checked work email and regular email.
10:00a - Took pictures and started post of my old flight control and a airplane simulator CD for sale back to e-bay.
11:30a- Cooked lunch and ate it.
1:30p - Got ready to go to my flight school and go to cvs to buy my vitamins.
2:30p- Got to flight school and prepped for flight.
5:00p - Came back from my flight and I did very decent. In addition I learned something new about soft field landings. If I have my flight test tomorrow I'm pretty sure I can nail it.
6:30p- Took a nap.
7:30p - Woke up and checked emails again.
8:00p - Cooked, had dinner, showered.
10:00p- Looking for housing and still looking for housing.

Day 6
8:00a - Woke up and got ready
9:00a - Went to flight school to return the key and talk to the check ride person about setting me up again for this friday.
10:30a - Bought my flight pedals and when I got home my flight yoke. I 'm hoping that, although they are a bit expensive (about 100 each), if I can get proficient off of them and save even 1 hour of my 15 hour of flight time I would have saved money. The reason being starting CFI flying on the right instead of the left is going to get some getting used to.
11:00a - Went to Rubios and bought a burrito (daarn you sister!) Came home and ate it.
12:30p - Tried to take a nap. It's odd b/c even though I'm more restless at night if I took a nap in the afternoon the other day I feel more rested as opposed to sleeping at night that day without taking a nap.
2:30p - Read my work e-mail and did some listing improvements.
4:00p- Got ready for volleyball and went to vball.
4:30p- Taught volleyball class till 6:30.
6:30p- Got picked up and went to comic con (for free! yay!)
9:00p- Comic con ended and we went to sam woo's for cheap and good food.
11:00p - Got home showered and got ready for bed.

Day 5
Guess luck wasn't with me today...
9:30a - Woke up and checked my work e-mail and regular e-mail.
10:30a - Cooked lunch and ate it.
11:30a - Left for flight school.
12:00p - Arrived for flight school and got ready.
1:00p - Went out and preflight the airplane (checked it around made sure it was safe to fly). Found out..... That someone added like 2 quarts of oil over the limit. Told the check airmen and he said we'd have to get a mechanic to come out here and get it drained.
(He said I was cursed...and I didn't find this to far from the truth. So we waited and waited)
3:00p - The mechanic shows up and drains the oil ( which took 10 mins top!...) But by this time the cup of coffee I downed was gone and I was feeling sluggish from the wait and the sugar crash ( I didn't want to drink another b/c I know I'd be half way and needed to use the bathroom).
5:00p - Got back from the flight and found out I didn't pass. 1) In my emergency descent I was supposed to brief the passenger (didn't know that......) but I forgot to check one of my flow. 2) On my stall recovery I put my flaps up first before going full throttle (this was the first time I did it and I didn't know why Gah!!). 3) My soft field was meh I think it would have passed if I didn't make the first two mistakes. On the plus side he said my short field landing was perfect which is high praise coming from him. But in any case I didn't pass....
So I'm having my instructor reschedule me either tomorrow or thursday and have my flight again on Friday. All I have to do is just re-do those three maneuvers blagh if I could have done it again in flight I would have probably done it right. These three I'm not going to have trouble.
6:00p - So to further kick me while I was down. The lady from the place we liked called at 5:00p and I called her back at 5:48p but she didn't pick up. When she did finally call back she was sorry but had given the place to someone else already. Agh!... This sucks....
I think if we just didn't have that oil problem in the beginning this whole day would have been a lot different. I would have been more alert during the flight and I would have picked up that call... sad....

Day 4
Wow this was a very tiring day but productive.
7:00a - Woke up and checked work e-mail and just regular e-mail.
8:00a - Started my long 2 hour drive to Hemet and also had a conference call at 9:10a on the drive.
10:00a - Arrived right on the dot and ushered the buyers into the facility and got things picked up and sold.
11:00a - Finished all the pickup and started my long drive back to Fallbrook for my pick up.
12:00p - Took a scrap metal guy to one of the sales and made a great contact and got a good finders fee of $200 sweet cash.
2:00p - Got back home and dropped off one of the buyer's item at UPS then headed home.
3:00p - Cooked, ate, and got ready to go teach volleyball.
4:30p -Taught the discovery group (teens) how to play volleyball for $30 an hour.
5:30p- Taught older folks how to play volleyball $15 an hour. Then played volleyball as exercise till 8:30p.
9:00p- Got home and cooked food, ate, and showered.
11:00p- Entered my work orders and got paid, well in the next pay period.
11:33p- Wrote this blog and getting ready to sleep. Going to go over procedures one more time before I sleep.

It's the big day. I feel a bit rusty on the edges b/c it's been a week since I flown. But hopefully by going through the procedures I don't miss anything while doing the flight. Landings are just going to be up to fate and whatever skills I can muster up. I really hope to pass my Flight Check Ride tomorrow and finally get my third stripe so I can move on. Wish me Luck! : )

Day 3

11:30a - Started cooking lunch and then ate it.
1:00p - Called the buyers to pick up items tomorrow.
2:00p - Go over flight maneuvers for tomorrow and went down to the office to get coffee and tea.
4:30p - Took a long nap.
6:00p - Woke up and had my tea while working on Interschola's Fallbrook listing.
8:30p - Started cooking pea sprouts and rice. Apparently adding oil to the water before cooking the pea sprouts help take away that rough texture, but adding to much didn't make it taste good though.
10:00p - Started writing this blog. Then to shower and another review of the maneuvers and also start the flight simulator and try to practice on that.

Day 2
*All time is assumed to go from what is said to what is put next. So 9:00 to 10:30 was dinner.
Day 2:
9:30a - Woke up and checked e-mail and saw that there was a housing appointment at 10:30. So got ready and went to housing appointment.
10:45a - The studio wasn't to bad. It was pretty spacious and close to flight school. The rent at $850 wasn't to bad either. But decided to keep looking still.
11:30a - Arrived at flight school and looked on craig's list some more. Made some calls and got appointments at 1:00 and 3:00.
12:00p - Went to KFC and used coupon for meal.
1:10p - Met with landlady but turns out she just rented it out while I was waiting for her.....
2:00p - Went to Ranch 99 to buy groceries.
3:00p- Met with the landlady and saw the place. It was spacious at 650 sq. feet with a bedroom and garage. The outside looks crappy but the inside is ok. At $900 and literally only 1 mile to school, gave them the application and allowed credit check to be run.
4:30p - Came home and checked work email and email.
6:00p - Read my book
9:00p - Made and had dinner.
10:30 - Wrote this blog.

9:00a - Got up and had my 1 hour long conference call with Interschola till 10:00a.
10:00a - Went to flight school and talked with Mr. Smathers about guaranteeing my CFI in 3 months. Also saw the Examiner and got my Commercial Flight Test set for Tuesday the 22nd at 12:30p.
11:00a - Headed to Fallbrook Unified School District (53 Miles away) to inventory a truck and to get pink slip copies.
1:30p - Got back home, ate, and unwind.
3:00p - Went to the office to drink coffee, have tea, and study.
6:00p - Came back up and started to make calls to buyers for Item pick up at Hemet Unified and Fallbrook on Monday.
7:30p - Started cooking curry from scratch.
8:00p - Had Dinner.
9:00p - Started to write this blog.
